My Experience in Conducting Webinars

My Experience in Webinars

My general experience about conducting webinars is a bit underwhelming. Due to the pandemic, conducting public events are currently prohibited. So a webinar is the most viable option.

Conducting a webinar is truly troublesome to students that have little to no access to gadgetry that connects them to the internet. This is also quite troubling to students that have no experience to conducting webinars, or have no prior knowledge on how to conduct them.

The webinar felt such a huge hurdle to overcome, me and my fellow classmates had to plan things out to the letter so that things go smoothly. From deciding what to conduct in the webinar to assigning roles, the planning took quite a time to formulate.

Many of my classmates can't contribute much due to their situations, living in places with low reception, having no money to buy data, having no money to have travel expenses, having no prior knowledge to seminars as a whole, it was truly an undertaking to many of us.

I was put in charge by our class mayor to handle the E-certificates to be given to participants after they attend the webinar and answer the evaluation form that I also prepared. I have to admit, this was not supposed to be that much troublesome but due to my slow internet speed, this became more difficult. Making E-certificates online requires fast internet speed if I ever want that to be saved. Making the evaluation form, I had help and advice from my colleagues.

We also had to contribute cash for the budgeting of this webinar. My colleagues had to do voiceovers, contacting potential guest speakers, editing and recording, we were all doing what we can.

All in all, everything went well, we've all done our part. The webinar is well-received as far as the date from the evaluation goes. Not bad for a bunch of first-timers if I do say so myself. But it is indeed stressful, because of the handicap we were given due to the pandemic.

All participants, me included, received E-certificates from participation and evaluation.

Now I know, now we know the things we need to do if ever the need to conduct another webinar comes up.
